MORE's F&L Fuel / Toys for Tots Holiday 200 Pre-race Report
Posted 11/22/06 by Uncle Bob

Here we are about a week and a half away for the year end race with MORE. Some of the talk on the internet is asking for a double points race as there are many classes that have yet to determine a class winner. Fortunately Team UBRT Racing has already locked up our points chase and won our 3rd straight Championship and will run this race in a relaxed atmosphere with the exception of our extreme competitiveness with the seeking our 16th win in the last 20 races.

This race is a charity race with proceeds going to the Toys for Tots Foundation so kids in need will receive gifts for the holidays. Please make sure you bring plenty of UN Wrapped gifts. It is better to bring 10-20 inexpensive gifts in the 2.00 to 10.00 dollar range than two 25.00 dollar gifts. This way you can please 10-20 kids than just 2.

A couple of our team member have left our team to venture off into the driver and co-driver seats. This couple would be Cameron Sinohui and Chris White. Cameron has built a wonderful Toyota Tundra to run in the 1450 Pro Modified Class under the truck number 1470. With two trucks running out of the Team UBRT Racing Camp, not only will there be plenty of exciting action, but also the potential for 2 first place finishes for our team.

The race is Saturday December 2nd in Barstow, CA (approx. 2 hours north of San Diego). There's a link below with directions to the event. The race course is a double course format with 1 track being 33 miles in length and the other track being 13 miles in length along with running 2-3 miles of common ground for pit row and is located outside Barstow in the desert off the south side of Hwy 247 so plan and dress accordingly, cool night time temps and sunny days. You're more than welcome to come for the day or stay and camp with us. Most will stay at the "Main pit" and either camp or stay in a motor home, trailer or tent. There are also a few hotels near by, see link below. If you plan to come let me know, it gets crowded at the main pit and if you plan to bring a motor home or trailer, we will need to know ahead of time so that there's plenty of room saved for you.

We plan to start arriving at the track Thursday morning and staying there through Sunday. You can bring your motorcycles and quads as there's lots of riding in the area BUT PLEASE by all means watch out around you! THERE WILL BE RACE TRAFFIC! Within a short distance there's also fast food stores and gas.

It's a family friendly environment and kids are welcome. If you want to help out in the pits, let me know and we'll find something for you help with. We're looking forward to seeing some of you out there.
